About
Searchie.dev exists because of a small, annoying problem: people go looking for Searchie, find something called Membership.io, and cannot immediately tell whether the company was acquired, shut down, or simply renamed. This site answers that question, and then covers the decisions that follow it.
What this site is
An independent guide, written for people running or planning a paid membership. It covers three kinds of thing:
- The rebrand itself — what the Searchie to Membership.io change covered and how to read older material about the product. See the rebrand explained.
- Vendor-neutral operational guides — the platform checklist, the migration guide, and the launch guide. These are written to be useful whichever platform you end up on.
- A fit assessment — an honest read on who Membership.io appears to be built for, based on what the company publishes.
What this site is not
It is not the official Membership.io website, not affiliated with the company, and not a source of pricing or roadmap information. It has no inside access. Anything that matters to your decision should be confirmed with the vendor directly, in writing.
How it is researched
Claims about the platform come from the company's own public sources — product pages, help centre, and blog — and are dated in the text so you can judge whether they have aged. The operational guides come from general practice in subscription and membership businesses rather than from any single vendor's documentation.
Where something is uncertain, it is written as uncertain. Where something has not been verified, it is not asserted.
How it is funded
Affiliate commissions on referrals to Membership.io, and display advertising through Google AdSense. Both are set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page, including how those incentives are handled.
Corrections and contact
If a fact here is wrong, out of date, or reads as more promotional than the evidence supports, send it to info@searchie.dev. Corrections get made and the review date on the page gets updated.
